Here’s a full preview of the SmackDown before Money in the Bank:
#5. The Women’s Tag Team Titles on the line
Fatal Influence has been on a gold rush lately, with all its members holding championships. But tonight, the faction faces a major hurdle as Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid are set to put their Women’s Tag Team Championship on the line. The duo will battle the team of Charlotte Flair and Tatum Paxley in a huge tag team match on Friday Night SmackDown.
Fans can expect a great match between the two teams involving several hard-hitting sequences. A title change seems unlikely because Fatal Influence has been riding on red-hot momentum lately. Therefore, Henley and Reid are expected to retain their Women’s Tag Team Championship. However, the match could turn into a maelstorm of chaos due to ringside interference.
#4. CM Punk returns to SmackDown
CM Punk is set to be one of the top superstars who is entering the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match this weekend. The Best in the World was absent from last week’s episode of SmackDown. However, Punk will make his presence felt on the show tonight in Lafayette, Louisiana. WWE is advertising his return as one of the major things of the upcoming episode.
CM Punk could appear in the ring and deliver a passionate promo, hyping the upcoming Money in the Bank ladder match. He could emphatically state how he is going to win the briefcase this weekend in New Orleans and secure the contract. But Punk could find himself interrupted by other Money in the Bank participants, leading to a back-and-forth exchange.
#3. Money in the Bank participants will be live
Friday Night SmackDown is set to erupt into absolute chaos tonight as all the Money in the Bank participants will be under the same roof. Bron Breakker, Je’Von Evans, Trick Williams, Penta, CM Punk, and Kevin Owens will be involved in the same segment. These superstars could engage in a heated promo battle, all staking their claim to win the coveted briefcase.
Meanwhile, the women’s side will feature Sol Ruca, Lola Vice, Jacy Jayne, Roxanne Perez, Lash Legend and Tiffany Stratton. All these superstars will be under the same roof tonight on SmackDown to hype up their upcoming ladder match. They could take shots at each other, validating their chances of becoming the 2026 Ms. Money in the Bank.
#2. Nick Aldis to announce Sami Zayn’s next opponent?
Undisputed WWE Champion Sami Zayn has been fighting his way through the chaotic landscape of SmackDown for the past few weeks. He suffered a brutal attack at the hands of Finn Balor and Gunther last week, with both wanting a shot at the coveted title. Nick Aldis may finally take matters into his own hands and resolve the ongoing conflict this week.
He could officially announce Sami Zayn’s next challenger for the Undisputed WWE Championship. Aldis could book both Gunther and Balor in a huge triple threat match against Zayn for the coveted title. There is also a possibility that the General Manager could make a Number One Contender match between The Ring General and The Prince, with the winner getting a shot at the champ.
#1. Cody Rhodes sets out on a rampage
Last week’s episode of SmackDown was an uneventful night for Cody Rhodes as he got robbed of his Money in the Bank qualifying match. Just when victory was in his grasp, Randy Orton showed up out of nowhere and cost him the bout, squandering his monumental opportunity. That said, this rivalry has taken a violent turn, with The Viper making life miserable for Rhodes.
The American Nightmare is likely to be in a very bad mood tonight on SmackDown, ready to explode. Blazing in unbridled fury, he could storm into the ring and grab a microphone to scream out Randy Orton’s name in rage. Cody Rhodes could call out The Viper, demanding he face him like a man to settle their differences once and for all.
