As the captain of arguably the biggest MLB franchise, the New York Yankees, Aaron Judge has been involved in many big games over the course of his career so far.
The slugger played in the 2024 World Series with the New York Yankees, and is now set to play in the final of the 2026 World Basbeall Classic with Team USA.
Speaking to Dodgers Nation’s Doug McKain on Sunday, Judge explained how the environment of a World Series is different to that of the World Baseball Classic.

“It’s been bigger than the World Series I was in,” Judge said. “The crowd here, the crowd we had when we played Mexico. It’s bigger & better than the World Series. The passion these fans have, representing their country, representing their favorite players, there’s nothing like it.
“That’s what your dream of as a kid. Big spot, big moment. I get chills when I think about how special it is. I try to take a moment every game to kind of look around, appreciate the crowd, appreciate the moment. It’s just a blessing to go out there and do my thing.”
Logan Webb explains “impressive” quality that makes Aaron Judge the perfect captain for Team USA
Speaking to MLB Network’s Jon Morosi on Friday, San Francisco Giants ace Logan Webb, one of Team USA’s starting pitchers in the World Baseball Classic, spoke about the “impressive” quality that made Aaron Judge the perfect captain for Team USA.
“He’s calm all the time,” Webb said. “I’ve never seen that guy waver. It’s pretty impressive. I think that’s why he’s the captain of the Yankees and our team.
“There’s a lot of leaders on this team pretty much everywhere, they’re leaders of their own team. Having Aaron here, he’s the captain. It’s not just for the Yankees, it’s for the United States.”

Having beat another one of the tournament favorites, Team Dominican Republic in the semi-finals of the World Baseball Classic on Monday, Aaron Judge and company will take on the winner of the second semi-final between Venezuela and Italy, in Tuesday’s championship game.
