YouTube’s expanding access to its thumbnail and title A/B testing once again, while it’s also adding C-SPAN to its slate of YouTube TV content.
First off, YouTube has announced that A/B title and thumbnail testing is now being rolled out to all creators with access to Advanced Features.

As you can see in this example, YouTube creators can now test up to three video title variations through the same A/B testing process as their thumbnails, providing more insight into the best option to maximize views.
YouTube’s thumbnail A/B tests, which it originally announced back in 2023, will display your thumbnail options to a sample set of viewers over the course of two weeks, with the winner then selected based on which results in the most watch time.
(Note: YouTube says that it’s using watch time over click-through rate in this calculation because it’s aiming to maximize viewer engagement, and it believes that watch time is a better indicator to maximize viewer value.)
And with AI image generators now able to assist in coming up with additional thumbnail graphics, many more creators are likely keen to try this out, as a means to tap into the exact right approach for their content.
YouTube has been rolling out thumbnail testing gradually, while it recently added title testing into the mix.
And now, all creators with Advanced Features (i.e. creators who have gone through YouTube’s ID verification process) will have access to both options.
It could be a handy accompaniment to your YouTube process, providing more data-backed insight into creative approaches, and helping to validate your process.
On another front, YouTube’s also announced that YouTube TV viewers will now be able to watch C-SPAN content in the app.

So now, if you want to keep tabs on what’s happening in Congress, you can tune in via YouTube TV, and hear people yelling at each other on your behalf.
Which also provides a valuable window into the actual workings of the federal government, and the bureaucratic process that dictates key changes. As such, this could be a valuable addition, while YouTube says that it will also sponsor C-SPAN’s “America 250” programming, which begins next year.
Finally, YouTube’s also rolling out some new seasonal stickers for gifting within live-streams.

As you can see, you can now give live creators an owl (?) or a hot cocoa when donating to their stream via stickers.
The new stickers are now available to all creators with gift-enabled vertical live-streams, and will remain active until March 20th.
