YouTuber Mr Beast goals sly dig at Barcelona on Instagram after bribing goalkeeper with money throughout charity match in Qatar

MrBeast took a dig at Barcelona after bribing the goalkeeper during the ‘Match for Hope’ charity match in Doha, Qatar. He hopped on Instagram to tag the LaLiga giants in a post about the incident.

‘Match for Hope’ is an annual charity match featuring some of the biggest content creators and football legends. They play a match and raise money for the underprivileged children and youth in the Middle East, Asia, and Africa. This year’s match took place last week in Doha, with two teams being Team Chunkz and Team AboFlah.

During the match, MrBeast, whose real name is James Stephen Donaldson, won a penalty. He then brought out a briefcase full of money to bribe the goalkeeper to let him score. The briefcase reportedly had $10,000, and the YouTuber scored.

Meanwhile, 433 shared a carousel post on Instagram regarding this incident. MrBeast tagged Barcelona in the comments, writing:

This is likely in reference to the ongoing Negreira case against Barcelona. The Spanish giants are accused of allegedly paying millions to former Spanish referees committee vice-president Jose Maria Enriquez Negreira.

In the charity match, meanwhile, MrBeast was part of Team AboFlah, who lost 8-7 against Team Chunkz. They raised around $12 million for the Education Above All (EAA) foundation.

Barcelona president opens up about recent court decision in Negreira case

As per Football Espana, a presiding judge over the ongoing Negreira case denied Real Madrid‘s request to access some of Barcelona’s documents. Los Blancos had urged the court to allow them access to audits and economic reports of the Blaugrana between 2010 and 2021.

After the request was denied, Barca president Joan Laporta again asserted the club’s innocence and said:

“Barça have never altered the competition trying to obtain favouritism or refereeing advantages. I’m glad that the judge has slammed the door in Real Madrid’s face and told them that to obtain information from Barça that is not the system.

“The request they made was out of place and the judge has considered it so. They are in this procedure to try to maintain an argument that they know is absolutely uncertain, they have no basis and they do it to maintain the discourse they have on their television, when they know it is not true.”

Despite this mini-victory, however, the Negreira case is ongoing. According to another report by Football Espana, Real Madrid could also sue Barca for millions if found guilty.
