While making early predictions is no easy task, the current rumors, storyline developments and media outlets give us a subtle idea of what can happen.
Thanks for the submission!
Have a look at five early predictions for WrestleMania 43:
#5. Cody Rhodes vs. CM Punk: The Grand Rematch
Cody Rhodes and CM Punk faced each other in a high-profile match at SummerSlam this year. However, WWE has barely scratched the surface of their blockbuster rivalry and a lot remains unexplored. The two superstars are destined to resume their feud soon. Punk and Rhodes will likely lock horns in a marquee high-profile rematch at WrestleMania 43.
There is a good possibility that this match will headline Night One of The Show of Shows next year in Saudi Arabia. CM Punk and Cody Rhodes are two of the biggest names in this industry, sharing a deep-rooted history. Putting the two men under the bright lights of WrestleMania next year would guarantee a massive blockbuster attraction for the spectacle.
#4. IYO SKY walks in as Women’s Intercontinental Champion
The Women’s Intercontinental Championship is one of the most prestigious titles currently in the midcard division. Held by icons like Becky Lynch and AJ Lee, its prestige has increased tenfold. When it comes to WrestleMania 43, there is a strong possibility that IYO SKY could walk into the grand spectacle with her carrying the coveted title around her waist.
The Genius of the Sky could defend the Women’s Intercontinental Championship in a high-profile match in Saudi Arabia. Having IYO SKY walk into The Grandest Stage of Them All holding the gold sets up an international showcase against a top contender. She could not only raise the prestige of the championship, but could also set the stage for a marquee match at WrestleMania 43.
#3. Rey Mysterio vs. Dominik Mysterio: One Last Time
The generational feud between Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio remains one of the most compelling long-term storyline arcs in WWE. While they have crossed paths previously, this feud has plenty of gas left for one final career-defining closure. Rey and Dominik are likely to face each other one last time at WrestleMania 43 in a blockbuster match.
WWE could make it a “Hair vs. Mask” match to cap off the historic Mysterio saga, giving this feud a definite closure. With Rey Mysterio nearing the end of his wrestling career, next year’s WrestleMania could also mark his final WrestleMania appearance. Hence, fans might get to witness the highly anticipated rematch between Rey and Dominik at The Show of Shows.
#2. The Rock returns at WrestleMania 43
WrestleMania 43 is set to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and WWE is likely to go all out for this two-night extravaganza. It will be a historic night also because, for the first time, the company’s flagship event is going international. The Rock is likely to make his highly anticipated return in WWE at The Showcase of the Immortals next year in Saudi Arabia.
The Final Boss’ appearance at the marquee event seems inevitable because of the grand appeal of WrestleMania 43. His blockbuster return would elevate the spectacle’s global reach, generating massive mainstream publicity and setting the internet abuzz. Therefore, the WWE Universe may finally see The Rock make an appearance at The Show of Shows next year.
#1. Roman Reigns vs. Oba Femi headlines Night 2
WrestleMania 43 could see the highly anticipated collision between two of the biggest forces in WWE. Roman Reigns and Oba Femi will likely face off in a blockbuster match for the World Heavyweight Championship. The two superstars are expected to headline the final night of The Showcase of the Immortals under the bright lights of Saudi Arabia.
Even though WrestleMania is still several months away, the storylines have started to shape up in that direction. Roman Reigns has been marching forward with the World Heavyweight Championship, defeating one opponent after another. Meanwhile, Oba Femi has been on a rapid rise to the top. The two superstars may finally cross paths soon, setting up their highly anticipated match.
