A former AEW star got a jobber entrance at WrestleMania 42, and fans on social media feel bad for his WWE run since returning. The star had a decent run in All Elite Wrestling before leaving as well.
The former United States Champion, Rusev, got a “jobber entrance” at WrestleMania 42, as he was already at ringside after the commercials. He was one of the competitors in the Intercontinental title ladder match on Night 2. The Bulgarian Brute failed to win the ladder match at Mania as well.
Rusev had a run with AEW from 2020 until his departure in early 2025 under the name ‘Miro.’ He returned to the Stamford-based promotion in April last year, and his run until now has been underwhelming. Fans on the X social media platform gave their thoughts on The Bulgarian Brute getting a jobber entrance at Mania 42.
A fan explained why they feel bad for Rusev:
“I feel so bad for him. He never gets the push he well and truly deserves. The worst part is WWE buried him at the height of his Rusev Day run.”
A fan also joked about Rusev leaving AEW and returning to the Stamford-based promotion last year:
“Glad that he left AEW to be the face of WWE and win lots of matches 😂”

WWE Superstar on being in a ladder match at WrestleMania 42
After he was added to the Intercontinental title ladder match at WrestleMania 42, the WWE Superstar Rusev explained why it’s a poetic moment for him. Through an Instagram video, Rusev stated the following:
“I may not fly like those guys, but I’ve been climbing ladders my entire life. When I left my country, Bulgaria, when I slept in my car, when I broke my neck, or when I rode a freakin’ tank into WrestleMania. So this is kind of a poetic moment: Ladder Match at WrestleMania.”
As Rusev failed to win the Intercontinental title in the ladder match at WrestleMania 42, only time will tell what’s next for him.
