Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders’ role with the team for the 2026 season remains uncertain as the Browns have yet to name their QB1. Sanders is facing competition from veteran quarterback Deshaun Watson.
However, Browns insider Mary Kay Cabot reported this week that Watson is the favorite for the starting role after minicamp. Shedeur’s brother Shilo took a jab at Cabot for her opinions about the Browns’ next QB1.
Thanks for the submission!
Shilo slammed the NFL journalist, alleging on a Twitch stream that she has an “agenda” against the Browns quarterback. Amid the ongoing controversy, Shedeur shared a cryptic X post, writing:

The Browns quarterback has not addressed the controversy involving his brother and the veteran journalist. However, his cryptic post could be referring to Shilo’s pointed remarks for Cabot.
Browns coach Todd Monken addressed Cleveland’s QB1 decision
The Browns hired Todd Monken as the new coach in the offseason after an underwhelming 2025 season. However, the new Browns coach has not decided on his starting quarterback for next season.
In an appearance on “The Ken Carman Show with Anthony Lima” this week, Monken reflected on the Browns’ quarterback situation.
“I would love to have that. I’m not there yet,” Monken said on the team’s QB1. “So, I can’t say that.”
The former Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator said that he is still getting to know his players in the offseason.
“It’s always changing based on what you see. I don’t have a history with any of our players,” Monken said. “I know where this is heading, but I don’t have a history with any of our players. They’re all external to me.”
