After Bumrah & Hazlewood, Vaibhav Suryavanshi launches Mohammed Siraj for first-ball 6 in RR vs GT IPL 2026 match [Watch]

Rajasthan Royals (RR) batting prodigy Vaibhav Suryvanshi continued his dream IPL 2026 season, this time against Gujarat Titans (GT) pacer Mohammed Siraj in Jaipur on Saturday, May 9. The 15-year-old launched the speedster for a first-ball six.

The pacer went for a fuller-length ball, and Suryavanshi whipped it high in the sky as the ball sailed into the stands over long-on, leaving everyone in awe. With the maximum, he also became the youngest to reach 100 sixes in T20.

Notably, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has already slammed star pacers like Jasprit Bumrah (Mumbai Indians), Josh Hazlewood (Royal Challengers Bengaluru), and Pat Cummins (SunRisers Hyderabad) for first-ball maximums in IPL 2026. With over 400 runs, he’s one of the leading run-scorers this season.

Retained for INR 1 crore ahead of the 2026 auction, he’s already slammed a century and two fifties. Suryavanshi had scored 252 runs in seven innings in his debut season last year.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi has continued his midas touch as RR have made a perfect start against GT in the IPL 2026 match. After taking on Siraj right from word go, he slammed two sixes off Kagiso Rabada in the next over. The youngster scored 36 runs off 16 balls, hitting three sixes and as many fours, before Siraj dismissed him to provide the first breakthrough for the Titans.

At the time of writing, RR were 38/1 after 2.5 overs, with stand-in captain Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel at the crease.

Asked to bat first, GT posted 229/4 in 20 overs. Captain Shubman Gill led from the front, scoring 84 off 44 deliveries, in an innings laced with three maximums and nine boundaries. His opening partner, Sai Sudharsan, also chipped in with 55 off 36 as the duo put on a 118-run opening stand. Washington Sundar and Rahul Tewatia provided the finishing touches, scoring 37* (20) and 14* (4), respectively. Meanwhile, Brijesh Sharma bagged two wickets for the home team.

The two teams have identical 12 points after 10 games. The winning team will dethrone IPL 2026 table toppers SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH), subject to net run rate (NRR).
