Rey Fenix Calls Out WWE for Ignoring Him Amid Penta’s Massive Push

Penta is making waves on Monday Night RAW as the WWE Intercontinental Champion. He is among the top babyfaces on RAW, and the company arguably views him as a major attraction on weekly television. However, Cero Miedo’s brother, Rey Fenix, hasn’t experienced the same level of success on SmackDown.

Since his debut, Penta has picked up wins over prominent stars, such as Dominik Mysterio, Finn Balor, and Kofi Kingston. At WrestleMania 42, he successfully defended his Intercontinental Championship against five superstars in a high-octane Ladder Match. He is now set to put his gold on the line at Saturday Night’s Main Event later this month.

On SmackDown, Rey Fenix has yet to win a singles championship. He has lost half of his matches since joining the promotion in 2025. Moreover, he is not even involved in a storyline on the blue brand. WWE recently announced that Penta will defend his Intercontinental Championship against Ethan Page at Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 23, 2026. Fenix shared an interesting reaction to the post.

The former AEW International Champion quoted WWE’s post about Penta’s upcoming title match and called out the company for a lack of opportunities. Fenix wrote that he loved his brother, but he wanted a shot at the Intercontinental Championship.

“I love my brother, but I will like to have my chance. #AN1M0,” the post read.

Fenix’s last televised singles match for the company came in February 2026. He lost to Trick Williams on an episode of SmackDown.

Penta Commented on Potential WWE Reunion With Rey Fenix

Penta and Rey Fenix were among the top tag teams in pro wrestling before they joined WWE. They won tag team titles in top promotions like ROH, AAA, and AEW, among others. Many fans expected the duo to re-form The Lucha Brothers when they signed with the sports entertainment juggernaut. However, they have been active in singles competition since their arrival.

In March 2026, Cero Miedo was interviewed by SA Live. During the chat, he spoke about the potential reunion of The Lucha Brothers in World Wrestling Entertainment. The RAW Superstar said he hoped to work with Fenix soon, but wasn’t sure when it would happen.

With Penta thriving in his singles career, it will be interesting to see if and when he reunites with Fenix.
