Yankees News: Jazz Chisholm Jr. fires again with blunt message after ‘silly’ Jimmy Fallon Jab

New York Yankees second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. issued a fiery response to Cleveland Guardians broadcaster Tom Hamilton, clapping back at on-air criticism during a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Chisholm was asked about the Yankees’ goal for the 2026 season,

“I mean, to win a World Series. We’re in New York,” Jazz Chisholm Jr. boldly replied.

He later doubled down, saying, “Oh, for sure,” when Jimmy followed up by asking if he was certain about that goal. However, his comments caught the attention of Guardians radio broadcaster Tom Hamilton, who brought up his remarks during Tuesday’s game between the Yankees and Guardians.

“He predicted the Yankees will win the World Series. He did that last night on the Jimmy Fallon show. Pretty amazing he got on the Jimmy Fallon show batting .239.”

The clip went viral on social media, leading Jazz Chisholm Jr. to fire back at Hamilton’s remarks while also defending his World Series prediction.

“Do people want me to say, ‘Umm, I think my team is gonna come in third place and not make the playoffs and not get to the World Series? We’re not gonna win it all this year, you guys.’”

“Like no, that’s stupid. I’m a magnet for just being completely confident in my team.”

The two-time All-Star also noted that he was on The Tonight Show to promote his charity and wasn’t trying to be arrogant about the Yankees‘ World Series aspirations.

“I mean, I am a two-time All-Star,” Chisholm said before Wednesday’s game. “Just keep watching the games. Keep watching. I’m not trying to be arrogant or anything.”

“First of all, it was really for my charity that I was there. So for someone to hate on the Jimmy Fallon show and hitting .239 – my guy, I was hitting .180 a month ago!”

When asked about Chisholm’s reaction to his comments, Tom Hamilton said that he wasn’t “trying to belittle him” in any way. He later described the comment as an “innocuous” joke.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. reveals Michael Jordan’s blunt response to autograph request

During his recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jazz Chisholm Jr. recalled a memorable encounter with Michael Jordan in his childhood days.

“I was 9 or 10 years old. I was like, ‘Yo, can I get your autograph?’ He said, ‘No.’ Flat out cold no. And he was like, ‘Make me want your autograph one day’ and then walked off.”

Chisholm said that after this encounter, he always wanted to be a “Jordan athlete” and sign his name “on that contract.” Chisholm said he met Michael Jordan during one of his softball camps in the Bahamas.
