5 greatest mid laners in League of Legends MSI 2026, ranked

The League of Legends MSI 2026 is finally here, and as always, the mid lane remains one of the most important positions in professional play. A strong mid laner can control the pace of the game, create opportunities around the map, and become the primary carry during crucial moments. League of Legends MSI 2026 features several talented players who have consistently delivered throughout the year.

On that note, here are the five best mid laners attending League of Legends MSI 2026.

Note: This list is subjective and reflects the writer’s opinion.

Best mid laners at League of Legends MSI 2026 ranked

5) Creme

Creme enters MSI 2026 as one of the most mechanically gifted mid laners in the tournament. In recent years, he has become a reliable star who is capable of carrying games with ease. No matter what the meta favors, he is usually comfortable adapting to the situations.

Creme’s best champions in 2026 (so far): Annie, Aurora, Ahri

While Top Esports struggled during the Esports World Cup 2026 qualification stage, the team still had a strong domestic season. They finished second in the LPL 2026 Split 2, only falling short against Bilibili Gaming. Overall, Creme seems like one of the most promising mid-laners at the event.

4) Faker

No list involving League of Legends feels complete without mentioning Faker. Even after more than a decade of professional LoL, he continues to deliver at the highest level.

T1’s 2026 results have been somewhat mixed so far. The team finished fourth in the LCK Cup 2026, which was below expectations. However, they bounced back by finishing first at the EWC 2026 qualifiers, then second at Road to MSI.

Faker’s best champions in 2026 (so far): Anivia, Azir, Twisted Fate, Akali, Orianna, Ryze

While many younger stars may grab headlines for flashy mechanical plays, Faker’s ability to control games and make the right decisions under pressure remains among the best in the scene. He usually picks champions that have global prowess, such as Ryze, Galio, Twisted Fate, and most recently Sion (against Gen.G), then roams at appropriate times to help other lanes.

3) Caps

Caps has been Europe’s biggest player for years, and League of Legends MSI 2026 is another opportunity for him to prove himself. He is known for aggressive trades and unexpected plays that often change the outcome of the game.

Although Europe has mostly struggled against Korea and China in recent years, Caps is one of the only few players who has been capable of giving them a tough competition.

Caps’ best champions in 2026 (so far): Ahri, Ryze, LeBlanc, Aurora, Annie

So far, 2026 has been an amazing year for his team. G2 Esports won both LEC 2026 Versus and Spring, and even finished 2nd at the 2026 First Stand Tournament.

2) Knight

Knight is one of the most mechanically talented mid laners in professional League of Legends. His laning ability, teamfight positioning, and overall consistency make him a nightmare to play against. He rarely makes major mistakes and often creates advantages even in difficult matchups.

Knight’s best champions in 2026 (so far): Annie, Mel, Viktor, Ryze, Orianna, Ahri

Knight’s entire team has looked nearly unstoppable throughout 2026. Bilibili has won both LPL 2026 splits and also lifted the trophy at the 2026 First Stand Tournament. With teammates such as Bin and Viper, who hold extreme carry potential, Knight and BLG are one of the strongest contenders of MSI 2026.

1) Zeka

Over the last few years, Zeka has established himself as one of the most explosive and reliable mid laners in the game. His biggest strength is his ability to perform using melee mid lane champions like Sylas, Yone, and Akali. While Zeka participated in only four international events in his career, he won two of them (Worlds 2022 and FST 2025).

Interestingly, HLE’s results this year have been quite mixed. They had a disappointing result at the LCK Cup 2026, finishing in 10th place. Afterward, they secured first place in the LCK 2026 Regular Season and then defeated T1 in Road to MSI. All in all, Zeka’s LCK 2026 Regular Season performance was stellar, and he often carried the team to victories.

Zeka’s best champions in 2026 (so far): Aurora, Ryze, Ahri, Orianna, Yone, Cassiopeia

While other mid laners have stronger teams around them or more consistent domestic results, Zeka’s individual level remains exceptional. Furthermore, his synergy with HLE’s jungler Kanavi has been exceptional in recent times, which also makes him one of the scariest mid laners to face in MSI 2026.

That concludes the list of top mid laners at the League of Legends MSI 2026.
