“Fake as hell” “He seemed VERY ChatGPT”: NFL followers react as Fernando Mendoza reveals greatest false impression about himself

Fernando Mendoza met the Las Vegas Raiders’ front office and coaching staff during the 2026 NFL Combine. The quarterback was asked about the biggest misconception people and the media have about him.

“I didn’t have social media during the season, so the media painted a picture about me that was maybe a little different than my true personality,” Mendoza said. “Especially after the house day game after I said, you know, flipping instead of f***ing.

“I’ve always looked at YouTube videos, how to communicate, how to be a better leader, and I’m a huge reader as well. So with that, it’s developed senses where people are like, ‘Oh, this guy’s ChatGPT.’ But I’ve been able to connect with my teammates really well and not like a ChatGPT scenario.”

Raiders confident in Kirk Cousins despite Fernando Mendoza hype

Fernando Mendoza may be seen as the future of the Las Vegas Raiders after being selected first overall in April, but the team appears in no rush to hand him the starting job.

Veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins is firmly in the mix, and head coach Klint Kubiak has expressed confidence in the former Falcons signal-caller.

“If you watched Kirk play (in) his last 4 games in Atlanta, you saw what he could do,” Kubiak said. “He’s getting healthier. He’s played really good football for us this time of year, and we’re counting on him come the season.”

Cousins has embraced his role in the quarterback room. He pointed out that he has always preferred preparing in a group rather than working independently.
