YouTube and Twitch star Rachell “Valkyrae” has spoken up after Steve Lacy appeared to share a spoiler for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. On July 27, 2026, Valkyrae hosted the red carpet event during the Spider-Man: Brand New Day premiere in Los Angeles, California.
A 36-second clip from the event has gone viral on social media platforms such as X, Reddit, Instagram, and TikTok.
In it, the co-owner of 100 Thieves asked Steve Lacy which character from the upcoming Marvel film he was most excited to see. She also urged the American singer-songwriter not to spoil anything.
In response, Lacy stated that he was excited to see X-Men member Jean Grey in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, who, according to him, is a “villain”:
“You know what? Jean. I like Jean. She is the villain, but like, there is a reason to her madness. I like her. I like her character! I like her character. I don’t know why. I like her.”
Later that day, Valkyrae took to X after Steve Lacy’s comments spread like wildfire on social media, and wrote:

On the same day, Valkyrae posted an Instagram Story after hosting the red carpet for the Spider-Man: Brand New Day premiere in Los Angeles. While claiming that she “almost cried” after asking Zendaya one question during the interview, the Twitch streamer wrote:
