Kim Yo-a regularly shares literary-style reflections on themes including youth, love, and happiness. She later posted a screenshot of the exchange. She described the reply as a glorious comment. She described it as hard to believe even after seeing it.
The original poster of the screenshot noted that the phrasing is commonly used by older generations when addressing younger people, similar to stories about walking long distances to school.
The comment quickly circulated among fans after screenshots spread on August 26, 2026. Fans connected the wording to fellow BTS member Suga, also known as Min Yoongi. Suga was born in 1993 and has used comparable “back in my day” language for years.
In 2015, at age 22, he recalled the day before the college entrance exam by saying he remembered it from back in his day. During a 2020 episode of Run BTS, when Suga was 27, he remarked that he used to tie a spinning top with thread at a younger age. Leader RM responded with the Korean phrase “latte is horse.” The phrase is equivalent to “ok boomer.” Other members have referred to him as “grandpa Yoongi” on various variety appearances.
The comparison circulated alongside the original comment as fans noted the similarity in phrasing between the two members.
One fan referenced Suga’s previous comments and joked:
“Jungkook, after spending 10 minutes with yoongi grandpa🫠”

BTS’ Jungkook’s tattoo artist calls out his sleeve copy
On August 25, 2026, tattoo artist POLYC commented on an Instagram reel by Marisol Jarpa (@maripon.ink). The reel showed a client’s sleeve that closely copied the custom design POLYC created for BTS’ Jungkook. POLYC said every client should receive an original design based on shared experience. Copying his work exactly and posting it publicly felt disrespectful to him and to the original client.
Jarpa replied that her client felt Jungkook’s tattoos had saved his life and held deep meaning, which led her to accept a large copy of them. She apologized, said there was no malice, and offered to delete the reel. Jarpa then removed the post.
POLYC later shared an Instagram story stating that everyone makes mistakes but should not repeat them. He accepted her apology as part of growth, deleted his own comment, and thanked those who supported him.
