WWE NXT star Thea Hail is going through a personal challenge. She took to Instagram to reveal that she has alopecia areata, an autoimmune condition that causes hair loss. The 22-year-old shared a mix of portraits and a close-up of a circular bald patch on her scalp.

Her caption kept it raw, saying she manifested going bald once. She followed it with humor, sharing pictures of herself with hair and without, holding her Women’s North American Championship.

For the former NXT Women’s North American Champion, the reveal was about normalizing hair loss while refusing to let it define her. Fans flooded the comments with support and appreciation for her confidence that continues to grow.

Hail remains active on television, most recently against veteran Nattie in a grudge match on the road to NXT Heatwave. Thea has won one title in her career so far: the Women’s North American Championship. She won it in 2025 and holds the record for the shortest reign at 21 days.

Former WWE Superstar Duke Hudson, now performing on the independent scene as Duke Hanson, recently advocated for former Chase U teammate Thea Hail during an appearance on Between Two Jobs.

Hanson voiced frustration over WWE’s hesitation to give Hail a sustained push.

“Dealing with Thea was an experience in its own right. I saw a quote recently that’s like, ‘You don’t feel 30 until you are 30 and you’re talking to someone that’s 22, and suddenly you feel 45.’ Speaking to Thea made me feel older than I was. She’s very talented. She’s very enthusiastic. She’s very passionate. She has some flaws – we all do. But I think she deserves some flowers and deserves an opportunity. I hope she gets it.”

He questioned why other young stars receive opportunities while Hail is routinely told that time is on her side.
