“Take immediate measures” – Fans query stage security after Jimin picks up a cellphone throughout BTS’ ARIRANG present at SoFi Stadium

On September 1, 2026, a moment involving BTS’ Jimin went viral. While performing, he suddenly stopped when he found an idle mobile phone on stage and handed it to security. The clips are from the group’s ARIRANG concert at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. The moment was captured during Boy In Luv, after he had been moving with the dancers.

However, there’s some uncertainty about the video. Two readings of the same footage circulated at once. One version holds that a phone was thrown toward the stage and struck Jimin‘s back before he turned, saw it, and picked it up. The other version holds that the phone was already on the stage when he approached that spot, that he passed near it, came back, noticed it, and gave it to security.

Later posts pointed to longer, uncut angles and argued that a fold in his jacket had been mistaken for impact. Whether it hit him remains unconfirmed.

Separate, unverified comments named a nearby concertgoer who threw the phone. They claimed that person later asked security for the phone.

After the clips spread, fans tagged BIGHIT MUSIC, HYBE, and SoFi Stadium’s X account, asking the company and venue to take immediate measures to ensure objects do not end up on the stage while the members are running and dancing.

Fan-base posts used terms such as “take necessary measures,” “immediate action,” and “HYBE PROTECT JIMIN.” Some fans called the presence of a phone on stage dangerous even if contact never happened. They noted the risk of a slip if it had gone unseen.

Several BTS fans who had first framed the moment as a hit deleted or revised those posts after the longer recordings appeared. The revised posts still treated a phone on the stage as a safety problem and still directed that concern at BigHit, HYBE, and SoFi Stadium.

The label and the venue have not issued a public finding on how the phone got there or whether Jimin was struck.

Conveying the same message, one fan wrote:

“Today at the ARIRANG in Los Angeles a phone was thrown on stage. Although no one was hurt at the time, throwing any objects on stage where artists are performing could lead to serious injury. Several shared a similar reaction and called for immediate action.

the phone was STILL thrown onto the stage. That person responsible should be identified and held accountable for putting the members safety at risk. .@SoFiStadium @HYBEOFFICIALtwt @BIGHIT_MUSIC

It DOESNT matter who did it, but the issue is ‘Throwing things on to the stage at concert is UNACCEPTABLE’ It could Harm the artist 🆘️🚨 Coz the phone DOESNT hv legs, it CANT walk by itself Someone THREW it there🤨 whatever the reason is WRONG Pls demand Hybe to Protect Jimin

More fans shared their concerns on X. Many urged others to demand action rather than argue over whether it hit Jimin.

Why are some of you arguing about whether the phone was “thrown at Jimin” or not? It was thrown ONTO THE STAGE. That alone is dangerous. Thank god it didn’t hit him. He was lucky. Stop missing the point and start demanding the company take action and hold whoever did this.

Why are y’all attacking people for being concerned? There’s nothing harmful about “overreacting” when a whole phone was thrown onto the stage. JM and the members were running around, this could’ve caused a serious accident. How did not one staff, security guard, or fan saw that?

There’s another video that showed the phone was already on the floor before Jimin was there which is why we deleted our tweet. But it’s still dangerous as he could’ve slipped if he didnt notice the phone regardless whose phone it was.

BTS’ Jin sprayed at the ARIRANG LA show Day 2

On September 2, 2026, during BTS’ second ARIRANG concert at SoFi Stadium, videos from the floor and lower bowl show a stream of liquid reaching Jin while he is on stage. Fans posting the clips describe the source as a water gun brought into the venue and used by someone in the audience.

Fans are treating both nights as a security problem: an object on the stage on September 1, and a device used to spray a member on September 2. Several posts ask how a water gun cleared entry and reached a sightline that could hit the stage. Concertgoers and fan accounts used those posts to demand action.

As of this writing, there’s no official statement from the label or the stadium regarding these incidents.

BTS will perform at the stadium again on September 5 and 6.
