Major WWE star accuses Kevin Owens of utilizing an unlawful transfer

A former WWE Champion has accused Kevin Owens of using an illegal move. The Prizefighter made his surprise return at SummerSlam 2026 last month.

Kevin Owens battled The Miz at a recent live event and placed a banana peel in the ring. The A-Lister hilariously slipped on the banana peel, and WWE shared the video of it today on social media. The promotion suggested that it was an illegal move by Owens, and The Miz agreed. You can check out the veteran’s message in the post below.

Owens won a Fatal 4-Way match to become the number one contender for the Undisputed WWE Championship. He battled CM Punk last month for the title on SmackDown, but Sami Zayn interfered and cost him the match.

Last week on SmackDown, Finn Balor, Kevin Owens, and Gunther competed in a Triple Threat match to determine the number one contender for Punk’s title. Sami Zayn once again interfered in the match, and it was ruled a no contest.

Zayn defeated Cody Rhodes and Gunther at Night of Champions 2026 to become Undisputed WWE Champion. However, he lost the title to CM Punk nine days later and has been determined to get it back ever since.

Kevin Owens opens up about his major WWE injury

SmackDown star Kevin Owens opened up about his broken neck and admitted he did not know if he would ever get the chance to return to the ring.

In an interview with The Toronto Sun’s No Holds Barred podcast, Owens shared that his career was in jeopardy due to the injury, and he didn’t know if he could wrestle again. The former champion missed over a year of action due to his broken neck before his SummerSlam return.

“From the time they told me we were going to have the surgery to the time I had the surgery to the time they told me I was good to go, all of that was very uncertain. There was never a guarantee that I’d get back in the ring at all,” he said.

Only time will tell what the promotion has planned for Owens moving forward on SmackDown.
