Popular WWE Star Teases In-Ring Return; Hasn’t Wrestled A Match In 12 Years

A popular WWE star could return to in-ring action after 12 years. He dropped a massive tease in a recent interview.

WWE RAW commentator Corey Graves hinted at an in-ring return for AAA

Corey Graves made an appearance on The Mark Hoke Show. Towards the end of the interview, the host asked Graves if he was ever going to get back inside the squared circle. Mark stated that he would love to see the former WWE 24/7 Champion wrestle one more time.

In his response, the 42-year-old stated that he had been asked this question several times. The RAW commentator pointed out that he got medically cleared several years ago. Graves noted that he was close to his in-ring return, but it never transpired as circumstances within WWE changed.

Graves confessed that he got “a little stagnant” after that. However, the veteran proudly reported that he had been hitting the gym for several months to figure out how he felt physically.

“I’ve been asked that question quite a few times. I did go and got myself medically cleared several years back. There it seemed like there was going to be an opportunity. Obviously, plans change as things change in the industry. I got a little stagnant after that, but I’m proud to report I have been back in the gym for the past several months just to kind of see how I feel,” Graves said.

Corey Graves added that it might be “fun” for him to step foot inside the ring in AAA. He noted that his younger brother, Sam Adonis, found great success in the Mexican promotion. Graves further stated that he could follow in Adonis’ footsteps.

“And you know, AAA might be fun for me to step foot into. My younger brother has had a great deal of success in AAA over the years. So maybe I’d actually follow in his footsteps, which could be kind of fun. But never say never,” he added.

Corey Graves announced his retirement from in-ring action due to his concussion issues in December 2014. While he wrestled his last match earlier in the same year at WrestleMania Axxess against Troy McClain, Graves’ final televised match was on the April 24, 2014, edition of WWE NXT, which was taped on March 13. In the main event of the show, the former NXT Tag Team Champion joined forces with The Ascension to battle The Usos & Sami Zayn.

Only time will tell if and when Corey Graves wrestles his first match in more than a decade.
