“Lawsuit incoming,” “Sounds hung over”: NFL followers react as Fox reporter refers to Jayden Daniels’ mom Regina as his “wife”

Jayden Daniels is known to be very close to his mother Regina Jackson, and one of the NFL’s most prominent media personalities has mistaken that bond for something else entirely.

On Sunday, as the Washington Commanders quarterback was being carted off the field after reinjuring his left elbow during a game against the Dallas Cowboys, cameras cut to Fox sideline reporter Tom Rinaldi. While giving an update, he inadvertently called Jackson Daniels’ “wife” before correcting himself.

Tom Rinaldi accidentally just referred to Regina Jackson as Jayden Daniels’ wife instead of his mom and honestly, he kind of had it right the first time

@ChimRitchels Tom had to have been drinking during halftime.

At the time of his injury, Daniels had gone 11-of-17 for 96 yards and a touchdown to Stefon Diggs. He also had 69 yards on seven carries.

The Commanders had already trailed 10-17 at halftime, and though they cut the deficit with a field goal, they would fall further in the third quarter, allowing another field goal and touchdown. Early in the fourth, they gave up a third field goal.
