Former WWE Women’s Champion shares unlucky incident; compelled to return residence

A former WWE Women’s Champion was set to make an appearance at a major event. But due to unforeseen circumstances, she was forced to return home. The Superstar is none other than Mickie James.

Mickie James was scheduled to make an appearance at the Comic-Con event in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. It was a two-day event. The show commenced on the 20th of September. Wrestling fans in Canada had an opportunity to meet Hardcore Country Girl, Mickie James. But unfortunately, she will not be able to make it to the event. James took to X to share that she suffered an eye injury and is struggling to open her eyes. Despite the injury, she did hop on a flight and arrived in Ontario, Canada. But sadly, the injury was so painful that she had to take the next flight

“Dear Hamilton. I am sorry I could not make it. I clumsily suffered a minor eye injury on Friday at the farm & I can barely open my eye. The airport & flight was brutal. The lights; makeup; & everything are so painful. I couldn’t let you see me in misery so I went back home. I will make it up to you,” Mickie James tweeted.

The WWE veteran recently revealed that she once planned on leaving the Stamford-based promotion.

Mickie James is one of the most popular female wrestlers of all time. She is a former WWE Women’s and TNA Knockouts Champion. Recently, she was interviewed on Wrestling Life Online. During the interview, James revealed that after seeing the Stamford-based promotion announce the return of the Divas Search in 2006, she questioned her career choice.

“I chose wrestling and did all the sacrifices and finally got the job, and now I feel like I’m not who they’re looking for. It’s just I wasn’t who they were looking for. And I kind of remember talking to (Tommy) Dreamer about it because he was my boss at the time. And I’m like, ‘I think I’m going to quit.’ Like, ‘I don’t know how much longer I can do this,’ she said.

She was convinced that WWE was looking for something else and she was not the right fit for the promotion.

“I’m watching my friends get fired. I don’t really have a backup plan. Every female they’re bringing up to the show, they’re not wrestlers. They don’t want wrestlers. So I was like, ‘Maybe I’m in the wrong place,'” she added.

James then revealed that she pitched a ‘stalker’ storyline, and that resulted in her getting paired with Trish Stratus.
