Update on backup plans for WrestleMania 43 if WWE is compelled to cancel Saudi Arabia

WWE is set to host WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia next year. However, due to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, there have been many questions about whether the global juggernaut would be able to host the event in Saudi Arabia.

One of the rumored backup plans was Las Vegas, the host of the last two years’ Show of Shows. However, those rumors have now been put to rest. Dave Meltzer addressed this in the recent Wrestling Observer Newsletter and revealed that Sin City doesn’t have the dates in April or the funds to host The Grandest Stage of Them All.

“Regarding rumors of Las Vegas as a back-up plan, sources in Las Vegas who have basically tipped us off on all the Mania decisions as well as issues with the dates that had to be taken care of the past two years well ahead of time, said that the city does not have the dates available in April and is not able to spend the kind of money they have in the past to bring the event in,” Meltzer said. Before WrestleMania 43, WWE will head to Saudi Arabia for Crown Jewel next month. There were reported internal discussions within the company to move the event, but it seems that the company is now going ahead with it as planned.

For the first time, WWE will take WrestleMania outside North America

WrestleMania has been the most anticipated event of the year for multiple decades. The spectacle will see its 43rd edition next year, but it is the first time WWE will take it outside North America.

So far, every WrestleMania has taken place in North America, with only two taking place outside the USA. The company’s deal with Saudi Arabia has seen major developments recently.

Saudi Arabia hosted the 2026 Royal Rumble as well. It will be interesting to see what other major events will be hosted in the KSA.
