“Caitlin Clark Will Forever be the Greatest Loser in Modern Sports”: WNBA World Disses Fever Star as Rival Angel Reese Gets One Win Closer to Finals

Despite the Indiana Fever being eliminated from the postseason days ago, Caitlin Clark was trending on social media on Wednesday. This came after Angel Reese helped lead the Atlanta Dream to a Game 2 win in the semifinals.

Atlanta’s victory gave them a 2-0 lead over the New York Liberty, moving them just one win away from their fourth WNBA Finals appearance. However, instead of simply celebrating Reese’s unbeaten playoff record, social media turned the conversation into another comparison with Clark, whose postseason win percentage currently sits at 20%.

“Clark will forever be the greatest loser in modern sports history lol,” @OfflineProphe wrote.

@statmuse Clark will forever be the greatest loser in modern sports history lol

@statmuse This is the equivalent of saying Robert Horry has more rings than Michael Jordan

@statmuse Caitlin took Indiana to playoffs Caitlin been with one Franchise Angel Reese couldn’t take Chicago to the playoffs so she had to join a good team

@statmuse She sure has a lot of “viewership” tho 😂😂😂

@statmuse Angel Reese couldn’t make the playoffs and then quit on her team to join a legitimate contender (just like she did in college) Caitlin Clark brought her team to the playoffs. Its not comparable

Angel Reese had the biggest contribution in the Dream’s 101-98 overtime win at State Farm Arena. She finished with a team-high 23 points, while also recording seven rebounds, two blocks, and a game-high box plus-minus of plus 11.

Angel Reese continues social media tradition following fourth-straight postseason win

As has become customary after her team’s victory, Angel Reese took to X to celebrate Atlanta going up 2 to 0 in the semifinals.

“DUBS IN THE M*F CHATTT,” Reese wrote.

Things have been going extremely well for Reese during the postseason. She is averaging 17.0 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks while helping Atlanta win all four games so far.

Her strong postseason run comes after an impressive regular season, where she averaged 16.4 points, 12.1 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game. Reese also took home Defensive Player of the Year honors after averaging 1.8 steals and 0.7 blocks.

Reese now has the opportunity to take things a step further by helping lead the Dream to the franchise’s first-ever championship.
