Blockbuster title match formally introduced for AEW Full Gear 2026

A major title match has been set in stone for AEW Full Gear 2026 pay-per-view.

The opening contest of the October 21 episode of Dynamite saw The Young Bucks square off against Don Callis Family members, Mark Davis and Jake Doyle, in a Title Eliminator match. The match began on an enthralling note; however, it turned into a short bout after Davis and Doyle dominated Matt and Nick Jackson and picked up the win.

Later, it was announced that Davis and Doyle earned a chance to challenge the Young Bucks for the AEW World Tag Team Championships in a rematch at the upcoming PPV, Full Gear 2026. You can check out the official announcement below:

The loss has come as a major setback for The Young Bucks, who had to scratch and claw to win their record-setting World Tag Team titles at All Out 2026. Moreover, Davis and Doyle’s performance against them in the Title Eliminator has seriously threatened their title reign. As a result, they’ll need a strong game plan for Full Gear 2026 if they want to retain their championships.

Top AEW team eyes a dream match with The Young Bucks

AEW’s newest team, The New Level, recently teased a potential showdown with The Young Bucks. In an interview with Yahoo! Sports, Austin Creed revealed they’d had their eye on The Bucks for over a decade and needed to reach their top level for the match to even be discussed.

“We’ve had our eye for over a decade on the Young Bucks. That’s who we’re coming in to beat down. We came over here for the ‘Championship Edition’ of the Young Bucks, not ‘[Street Fighter] II Turbo.’ So once they get back on that level, then maybe we go talking to them.”- H/T Yahoo! Sports

However, it remains to be seen if the Bucks will still be tag team champions when the time comes for that dream showdown.
