Atlanta instructor allegedly slapped autistic 7-year-old boy

An Atlanta mom is alleging that her 7-year-old autistic son was slapped by his instructor inside a classroom.

The alleged assault befell at Cleveland Avenue Elementary Faculty on Nov. 8. Police and officers with Atlanta Public Faculties are investigating the incident.

“I do not know what might’ve triggered this girl to react in a approach that she felt so threatened by my three-foot-tall baby,” Reginique Stinson instructed FOX 5 Atlanta.

Her son, Gabriel, was allegedly struck by the instructor inside his classroom so exhausting that one other instructor heard it and reported it, Stinson was instructed after the incident.

Stinson is asking on the district to raised train teachers with special education students and urging APS to put in cameras inside all lecture rooms. She additionally stated she has taken her son out of that class and is contemplating transferring him to a different faculty.

It’s unclear what the instructor’s employment standing is after the slap.
