India uncapped pacer Auqib Nabi produced a peach of a delivery to claim his second wicket for Surrey on Day 2 (Thursday, September 3) of their County Championship Division One 2026 clash against Yorkshire. The contest is being played at Kennington Oval in London.
The dismissal came off the second ball of the 11th over of Yorkshire’s second innings. Nabi bowled a length delivery just outside off that nipped back in sharply. It went through the gap between the bat and pad before crashing into the stumps to dismiss James Wharton.

The right-hander departed cheaply for four off 18 balls, including one boundary, leaving Yorkshire struggling at 36/4 after 10.2 overs.
Auqib Nabi finishes with two wickets as Surrey need 158 more to win
Surrey won the toss and invited Yorkshire to bat first. Jonny Bairstow’s side were bowled out for 185 in 75.4 overs in their first innings, with James Wharton top-scoring with 45 off 123 balls. For Surrey, Tom Lawes emerged as the pick of the bowlers, claiming 4/36 in 17.4 overs, while Auqib Nabi took 1/33 in 15 overs, dismissing Kuldeep Yadav.
In response, Surrey were bowled out for just 83 in 30 overs, with Ben Coad (3/22) and Jack White (3/14) leading the way with the ball. Yorkshire, meanwhile, could not make the most of their second innings either, as they were dismissed for 82 in 28.5 overs, setting Surrey a target of 185. Matthew Fisher was the pick of the bowlers with 6/25 in nine overs, while Nabi claimed 1/17 to finish with two wickets in the match.
At stumps on Day 2, Surrey were 27/0 after 7.4 overs and needed 158 more runs to win, with captain Rory Burns (11 off 27) and Dominic Sibley (15 off 19) at the crease.
