Calvin Ridley looks very different from before, and he has garnered ridicule for how it happened.
While speaking during his Tennessee Titans‘ practice on Saturday, the wide receiver revealed that a stomach infection he contracted from eating at a Chipotle caused him to lose 15 pounds during the summer break:
Thanks for the submission!
“By the time the night hit, it was coming from everywhere. … It’s not a good thing. It’s like a 24-hour thing, but it really puts you down pretty good.”

His comments were met with mockery from fans:
An ill stomach is not the only ailment Ridley is looking to recover from in 2026. He is also making his comeback from a fibular fracture that ended his 2025 season after seven games, during which he caught 17 passes for 303 yards and no touchdowns.
At the time of the injury, he was looking to extend his streak of seasons with at least 1,000 receiving yards. After posting 1,016 with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2023, he joined the Titans as a free agent in 2024 and amassed 1,017 with a squad that went a league-worst 3-14 with Will Levis and Mason Rudolph under center.
Titans HC Robert Saleh excited to see Calvin Ridley perform in practice
2026 will represent a make-or-break year for Calvin Ridley, as he is joined by two wide receivers brimming with breakout potential.
The first is Wan’Dale Robinson, who spent the first four years of his NFL career with the New York Giants. The 5’8″ speedster is coming off becoming the shortest thousand-yard receiver in league history, finishing with 1,014 yards after replacing Malik Nabers as WR1 four games into 2025. The other is rookie Carnell Tate, who at 6’2″ figures to be a more prototypical WR2 on the outside.
One person who hopes to see Ridley thrive with this new pair is head coach Robert Saleh, who said on Saturday:
“It’s really no different for him; he just needs to be him, share information he feels is necessary to guys around him. He’s pushed through all the injuries from last year, and I’m looking forward to seeing how he acclimates to the offense.”
The Titans’ first preseason game is at the San Francisco 49ers on August 13. Kickoff is at 8 p.m. CT.
