AEW veteran Jeff Jarrett was recently honoured with a massive title. He has been one of the few pioneers in the Jacksonville-based promotion. He has worked in WWE, TNA, WCW, NWA and many other top promotions throughout his tenure. He is currently providing his services to AEW. He has been All Elite since 2022. Initially, he was part of in-ring action. However, since 2025, he has been helping the promotion from behind the curtain.
Double J co-founded TNA two decades ago. It was a bold move to introduce another promotion in the industry given how WWE dominated the market. Despite the difficulties, he tried his best to make Total Non Stop Action a success. Currently, he is helping younger talent in All Elite Wrestling.
Recently, the TNT Hall of Fame awarded Jeff Jarrett the 2026 Frank Gotch Award for his contributions to the pro wrestling industry throughout the decades. After receiving the award, the former Intercontinental Champion took to X and thanked the TNT Hall of Fame.
“Thanks to everyone at @TNTHOF for the hospitality, for the fellowship, and for the Frank Gotch Award being inducted into my grandmother and father’s favorite Hall of Fame! Emotional night,” he wrote.
Jeff Jarrett reveals his role in AEW
The former Intercontinental Champion was supposed to have a retirement tour in 2025. However, it was completely scrapped and was taken off TV. He hasn’t been seen since.
While speaking on the Ariel Helwani Show, Jeff Jarrett revealed that he is currently a talent in AEW and isn’t creatively involved backstage.
“Well, I do Zero Hour. But hey, we talked about in this interview where I had to put my cap on and make a decision… So I’m very comfortable. I’m not in the creative department. I’m not in talent relations in AEW. I’m a talent. So when I’m called into Zero Hour to be an analyst, I do that. When I’m called to wrestle, I will wrestle. Yeah, I’m just an on-screen talent, whether a wrestler or not. Nothing behind the scenes,” he said.
