WWE Hall of Famer AJ Styles received a massive tribute at AEW Double or Nothing. The Phenomenal One’s legendary rival found himself at the end of the Styles Clash after years. The name in question is Samoa Joe.
Samoa Joe locked horns with Will Ospreay in the Owen Hart Foundation 2026 Men’s Tournament Quarter Final at AEW Double or Nothing. Both stars put on an incredible display of action inside the ring, and for the most part, it was a back-and-forth affair.

At one point in the match, Ospreay paid tribute to WWE legend AJ Styles by hitting his opponent with the Styles Clash. This was the first time in seven years that Samoa Joe found himself at the end of this legendary move. The last time he took the Styles Clash was in 2019 when he was signed to the Stamford-based promotion.
AEW’s official X handle recently uploaded the footage of Will Ospreay hitting Samoa Joe with the Styles Clash. In the post’s caption, the company wrote that Joe might be having flashbacks of his rivalry with The Phenomenal One after taking the move.

AJ Styles wants AEW star Will Ospreay to join WWE
During a recent edition of his Phenomenally Retro podcast, AJ Styles praised Will Ospreay’s incredible in-ring talent and believed that he had figured a lot about himself as a performer.
The Phenomenal One added that he wants Ospreay to join the Stamford-based promotion.
“Will’s the man, dude. I would love to have him in WWE—he’s an amazing talent. I think he’s figured out a lot about himself, and what he can do, and what looks good and makes sense—everything… Sometimes we worry about him hurting himself because he’s balls to the walls, but I get it, man. You’ve got one gear—you’ve got to go one gear until you retire, like myself.”
It will be interesting to see what Will Ospreay has planned for his future in the professional wrestling world.
