“This thing definitely caught me by surprise. I just don’t know what to make of it,” Vernon informed the Day by day Mail. “I’m leaning on the detectives to figure it out, but, right now, we have no answers.

“They’ll run checks, they usually stated they’re going to get again to us. It might be so long as a month, a month and a half, till we all know something.”

Vontae was previously diagnosed with attention-deficit disorder.

“Perhaps that is the case, possibly it is not,” Vernon said on whether it played a role in Vontae’s death.

“We do not actually have a solution to that as a result of there isn’t any option to see into our mind whereas we dwell. I used to be at his home two weeks in the past, and he had the therapeutic massage therapist there. He had a stretch therapist, a chiropractor, you identify it.

“He was like my son. We were four years apart, but I remember waking him up to do workouts when he was young and I was in high school. I made him do it because I wanted him to succeed even more than I wanted myself to succeed. I’m proud of him for his great work ethic, for his ability, his discipline.

“For understanding the distinction between being good and nice at one thing and for placing within the work. We have been the distinction makers in our household. We got here from a tricky background, however we had objectives and aspirations to be higher than the area we got here out of. I couldn’t have picked a greater little brother.”

Vontae was arrested for DUI in February 2023, but Vernon said he had been “doing effectively” and “simply taking good care of every part behind the scenes.”
