“F*ck Nike” – Sean Strickland unleashes fiery rant on main companies relating to cash and sponsorships

Sean Strickland delivered another outspoken criticism of major corporations while discussing sponsorships, money, and his refusal to change his public image for financial gain.

Strickland dismissed the idea of moderating his views to attract endorsements. He specifically targeted large global brands and accused corporations of prioritizing profit and public image over ethics.

During the UFC 328 pre-fight media scrum, he said:

“I’m saying it again, I don’t give a damn. If Nike came to sponsor me… F*ck Nike! You’re using little Chinese kids to make shoes, and then you want to sponsor me? F*ck those big corporations. If you don’t want to sponsor me, f*ck off! The real problem is you, buddy. Those ‘diversity and inclusion’ [DEI] initiatives of yours… I don’t need to be a rich guy, I’m good. I could retire right now. An extra million dollars? I don’t give a f*ck! Keep your money, you corporate a**holes.”

The middleweight contender has long built his identity around an anti-establishment image. He has often presented himself as disconnected from the polished branding typically associated with elite athletes.

The remarks continue a pattern that has made Strickland one of the most polarizing figures in MMA. While his unfiltered style has drawn criticism from some observers, it has also contributed to a loyal fan base that views his approach as genuine.

The latest comments arrive during an already heated buildup to his UFC 328 title fight against Khamzat Chimaev in Newark.

Dricus du Plessis makes surprising comparison between Sean Strickland and Khamzat Chimaev

Dricus du Plessis believes Sean Strickland holds a physical strength advantage over Khamzat Chimaev ahead of their UFC 328 title fight in Newark.

Having faced both men in championship bouts, du Plessis pointed to Strickland’s ability to return to his feet and maintain pressure even after takedowns. He suggested that Chimaev will likely secure early wrestling exchanges but questioned whether he can consistently keep Strickland grounded over five rounds.

Previewing the fight on Fight Forecast, he said:

“The first round is going to tell us so much about this fight… I know Khamzat is going to get him down. I’ve taken Strickland down so many times, I know Khamzat is going to get him down, but to keep him there? That’s going to be the big question. Because Strickland’s ability to get up, the technique he uses, the strength he has.”

He added:

“He’s a strong guy, a lot stronger than Khamzat on a physical level. I think he’s going to surprise some people. If Strickland gets up two or three times in the first round, it’s not going to get easier with the sweat and the fatigue, trying to keep a guy down that gets up. It uses a lot more energy than the guy getting up.”
