A police sergeant working at a Florida juvenile detention center is now behind bars herself after she allegedly wrote practically a dozen inappropriate letters to a 16-year-old inmate.

Gomez’s alleged relationship with the teenage inmate was uncovered when detectives responded to a name from the detention facility reporting roughly ten inappropriate letters present in his mattress.

When she was interviewed by detectives, Gomez allegedly admitted to writing the letters and stated she and the boy started growing a relationship after they met a number of weeks in the past.

The sheriff’s workplace stated she had been assigned to the boy’s pod for the previous three weeks.

Gomez had been instructed to not be alone with an inmate, however workers on the facility informed the sheriff’s workplace she was alone with the boy “several times.”
