It has just been reported that an AEW alumni is set to sign with a major company, filling out a major position that just been vacated. Their years of experience in the area will come in handy in this new role.
Rafael Morffi joined the Jacksonville-based promotion during their early days as the first Vice President of Live Events & Touring, adding to his experience in the area from his days with both WWE and TNA. He left the company in late 2023 to pursue a similar position outside wrestling.
It was revealed by PWInsider earlier today that Mike Kitlas has left MLW after being their Senior Director of Live Events since 2019. Fightful Select has just reported that Morffi will be joining the company as his replacement. It was also mentioned that the former AEW name has already been on board in his new role since last month.
Popular name linked to AEW has also left MLW
Earlier today, Paul Walter Hauser announced on social media that after being with MLW since 2024, he was now leaving the company. He looked back at his time with the company and how much he had grown as a wrestler after his stint with them.
The Hollywood star did not give any specifics about his departure, but cited that creative differences were the reason for this. As of now, it is unclear whether he is looking to sign with another major promotion.
Apart from his stint with MLW, Hauser has often been competing on the independent circuit. He has also been associated with AEW, having made several on-screen appearances for the company. He has appeared in segments, as a guest analyst during their pre-shows, and even once as a guest commentator.
He has yet to compete for the promotion, but given that he has already had a match in ROH, there is still a possibility for this becoming a reality. But it remains to be seen whether he plans on looking for a contract with another major promotion.
