In CS2, players can now rear chickens thanks to the Rush Hour update. They will need to purchase the Prime Status Upgrade in order to have a chance to get a chicken egg from the Weekly Care Package Drop. How to hatch a chicken egg in CS2?
Once you get an egg from the Weekly Care Package Drop, you cannot do anything at that time. It will sit passively on your screen in a nest and when you hover over it, you will see the text “Your egg will hatch soon.”
The incubation period appears to be around seven days (though this may vary depending on the breed). Just make sure to log in every day to check up on it. If you don’t, you will receive the message “Never loved. Never hatched. Those two are related.“

How to rear a chicken to an adult in CS2?
Once your chick hatches, you have to constantly collect chicken feed from the Weekly Care Package. If you don’t feed it as a chick, it will not grow into a pullet and then a hen. There are three types of drops that provide the necessary feed:
- A 4lb bag
- An 8lb bag
- Two 8lb bags (the best one because it lasts longer)
Don’t worry about forgetting to collect feed, since the game will provide a warning when you are running low nine days in advance (You will receive the message “Running low on food“). However, if you do not feed your chicken even after it is an adult, it will leave you. The game will let you know with the message “Your pet has accepted a position elsewhere.“
You will have to regularly collect feed from the Weekly Care Package so yes, you will have to dedicate a slot from it if you choose to rear a chicken.
