Japan Airways passenger airplane burst into flames after attainable collision at Tokyo’s Haneda airport

A thick plume of black smoke rose over an airport runway in Japan on Tuesday after a Japanese plane burst into flames, native media reported.

Stay footage on public broadcaster NHK confirmed a Japan Airways passenger airplane on a runway at Tokyo’s Haneda airport with flames popping out of its home windows. Shortly after, the plane was solely consumed.

A Japan Airways spokesperson stated greater than 300 passengers have been on board when the plane initially caught hearth. NHK reported all 379 passengers and crew finally escaped from the airplane. 

Native information stories stated the hearth broke out after the airplane hit one other plane after touchdown. The opposite airplane was presumably a Coast Guard plane, Nippon TV reported. A Coast Guard spokesperson stated it was investigating the attainable collision.

A number of emergency automobiles responded to the hearth, using water and foam. Nonetheless, the flames had unfold throughout an excessive amount of of the airplane.

The plane JAL flight 516 had flown out of Shin Chitose airport in Japan to Haneda, officers stated. Haneda is likely one of the busiest airports in Japan.
