New York AG seeks over $370M from Trump, co-defendants for ‘ill-gotten gains’

New York Lawyer Normal Letitia James is looking for over $370 million from former President Donald Trump and his co-defendants in his extremely publicized civil fraud trial.

James demanded the monetary penalty as reimbursement for earnings she argues have been illicitly gained, in line with a doc filed to the court docket on Friday.

The legal professional common argues, “The conclusion that defendants intended to defraud when preparing and certifying Trump’s SFCs is inescapable; the myriad deceptive schemes they employed to inflate asset values and conceal facts were so outrageous that they belie innocent explanation.”

Again in September, Engoron dominated that Trump and the Trump Group had committed fraud whereas constructing his actual property empire, by deceiving banks, insurers and others, by overvaluing his belongings and exaggerating his web value on paperwork utilized in making offers and securing financing.

“The myriad deceptive schemes they employed to inflate asset values and conceal facts were so outrageous that they belie innocent explanation,” James wrote.

Trump and his household have denied any wrongdoing and have claimed that the previous president has repeatedly mentioned his belongings have been truly undervalued.
