Polish Foreign Minister Sikorski Confirms Advanced Negotiations for New US Military Base within the Country, Housing 10,000 Troops

Controversial Sikorski boosts US military base.

While the US Pentagon has publicly been planning to pull up to a third of its troops from European countries, a counter-movement is also ongoing, in which a new military base is now expected to be built in Poland.

TGP’s Jordan Conradson reported on Donald J. Trump’s announcement that ‘progress had been made’ on the issue.

News arose today that US and Polish officials are advanced in the work to set up an American base in Poland that would house as many as 10,000 troops.

This revelation comes from Polish Foreign Minister, the controversial Radoslaw Sikorski.

You may remember him thanking the USA for blowing up the Nord Stream pipeline – German prosecutors have actually charged a group of Ukrainians working ‘under state orders’.

Sikorski hasn’t always been so popular with the Trump administration, as you can read from March 2025: ‘SAY THANK YOU’: Secretary Rubio and Elon Musk Put Polish Defense Minister in His Place After Fake Controversy Over Starlink Usage by Ukraine.

Again, in January 2026, Elon Musk called him a ‘drooling imbecile’ over his endless Starlink complaints.

So, while his new revelation is totally in line with the previous Trump announcement, we have learned to take his statements with a bit of salt.

“Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski announced the effort [to negotiate the base] Thursday, which comes as the Pentagon undergoes a review of U.S. service members abroad and months after the Trump administration threatened to yank troops out of the country.

President Donald Trump has floated the idea of an Army base in Poland, but this is the first time officials have offered concrete details. The U.S — which has around 7,000 troops in the country now — is also moving Army units to Lithuania and Estonia. This brings more American boots to the Kremlin’s doorstep as NATO allies worry about increasing Russian aggression.

‘We want the kind of U.S. presence that would reassure us, but not be threatening to Russia’, said Sikorski at a Council on Foreign Relations event in New York. ‘And we hope that President Trump keeps the promise that he has made to this effect’.”
