Seattle Seahawks safety Nick Emmanwori received an update regarding his availability for the team’s season opener against the New England Patriots.
On Saturday, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that the safety could potentially miss the first two games of the season amid his rehabilitation process.

Social media was flooded with reactions to Emmanwori’s Week 1 availability status.
“Running from Drake Maye,” one fan commented.
“I’d rather have him healthy for the entire season than just 2 games it’s disappointing but its not too big of a deal as long as he’s not out of another major game past the first one,” another fan said.
“Dude was not given good advice. Waited way too long to get treatment,” a fan wrote.

Back in July, Nick Emmanwori underwent ankle surgery, sidelining him for some time in training camp. He was removed from the PUP list last month. However, the Seahawks have not yet confirmed his availability for Week 1.
Mike Macdonald and his team drafted Emmanwori with the No. 35 pick last year. During his rookie campaign in the NFL, the safety went on to win Super Bowl LX after the Seahawks defeated the Patriots in the championship game. Emmanwori recorded 81 tackles, 2.5 sacks and one interception in 14 games.

Last month, Super Bowl LVI champion Aaron Donald decided to come out of retirement and return to play for the Los Angeles Rams. There were rumors about this possibility after the team traded with the Cleveland Browns for two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year, Myles Garrett.
After Donald announced his return, Nick Emmanwori took a shot at the Rams. In a post on social media, he claimed that Sean McVay and his team’s offseason acquisitions were a precaution against the Seahawks following their Super Bowl LX triumph.
“All that for us,” Emmanwori wrote.
Last season, the Rams made it to the NFC Championship Game. However, their hopes of Super Bowl glory were crushed following a 31-27 loss to the Seahawks.
