Last night on CNN, panelists on the Abby Phillip show were reacting to the debate for California governor between Democrat Xavier Becerra and Republican Steve Hilton.
Scott Jennings, the lone conservative voice on the network, put things into perspective by pointing out that California has been run by Democrat for years and that the current state of the state ‘sucks.’
He suggests that the state is ripe for change and that it will all come down to whether or not voters can get past the politics.

“And if you want to do something different, Steve Hilton presented that tonight. I don’t know if any minds were changed, but I think the contours of this debate and this choice are pretty well-established.”
“Democrats are running the state. The state kind of sucks. There is a different alternative, but can he overcome the national political environment?”

Democrats don’t want to lose control of California for a lot of reasons, but one of the main ones is that if California elects a Republican after Gavin Newsom, it is going to make it very difficult for Newsom to make a case that he deserves to be president.
Who in the country wants their state to become more like California?
