Eight faculty basketball gamers who have been involved in the brawl following Texas A&M-Commerce’s sport towards Incarnate Phrase have been suspended by the Southland Convention.

The Texas A&M-Commerce Lions defeated the Incarnate Phrase Cardinals in time beyond regulation on Monday night time. I would like to extend our appreciation to A&M-Commerce Athletics Director Jim Curry and [Incarnate Word] Athletics Director Richard Duran for their unwavering partnership and diligent resolution of this matter.”

Each colleges launched a joint assertion shortly after Monday night time’s incident, saying the sequence of occasions have been unacceptable in faculty sports activities.

“The unsportsmanlike conduct that occurred after the game does not reflect the values of the universities involved, as well as the Southland Conference and their member institutions,” the faculties’ assertion stated.
