Suspect in custody after stealing Salvation Military truck that gives assist to these in want in DC

A suspect is in custody after officers in Washington D.C. get well a stolen truck from the Salvation Military that gives scorching meals to these in want, according to Fox 5 Washington D.C.

Based on the group, the “Grate Patrol Canteen”, which gives scorching meals to lots of in want each evening in D.C., was stolen late Saturday.

A Salvation Military spokesperson instructed Fox 5 that the Grate Patrol Canteen is a year-round service that could be a crucial neighborhood useful resource, the Salvation Army runs on top of the vacation help packages.

This cell service has been up and operating for almost 40 years and the one evening they didn’t serve meals was on Jan. 6, as a result of security considerations, in accordance with the group.

As police looked for the stolen truck, the Salvation Military used a minivan to ship meals to these in want, however it was solely capable of present chilly meals. 

“It saddens our hearts that someone would get to a point where they felt the need to do that, but we want to make sure we are maintaining hope and joy for people in need,” Main Todd Mason of the Salvation Military mentioned. “So, whether it’s through our Angel Tree program that we are doing for Christmas or replacing our Grate Patrol vehicle to be able to feed people each evening, we are going to keep that spirit of hope and joy.”

Based on Fox 5, a viewer noticed the truck in entrance of a Marriott Resort and confirmed the license plate on the truck matched the stolen one police had been looking for. 

A police spokesperson mentioned that an individual of curiosity is in custody and has been charged with receiving stolen items.
