The Blood of Dawnwalker has several endings, one of which can be obtained within an hour of the story’s beginning. That said, you need to navigate to a specific location and use your vampiric ability to proceed. In the end, you can escape Vale Sangora on your own, but you will be leaving your family behind. This method also unlocks an achievement in the game.
Here are the details on how to speedrun The Blood of Dawnwalker in under 40 minutes (given that you skip the cutscenes).

Complete the prologue in The Blood of Dawnwalker
To finish The Blood of Dawnwalker as quickly as possible, finishing the prologue is mandatory. However, you can choose straightforward approaches and dialogue to speed it up. When the prologue is done and the open world is accessible, you can end the narrative and complete The Blood of Dawnwalker.
Here are the details on how to complete the prologue quickly:
1) Withering Away quest

After finishing the tutorial segment by following Lunka, Coen will wake up from sleep. After waking up and talking to his father, select these prompts:
- I had that nightmare again.
Exit through the door and chop the wood by completing the quick-time events. Afterward, go near the stove and add firewood. While trying to feed Mother, select these dialogue options:
- Let me try feeding her.
- [feed Esme]
- All right. Let’s try.
- Complete the quick-time event.
- I’ll be on my way.
Next, pick up the sword from your room and head towards the objective marker to reach Anca’s house. However, she won’t be inside. Go behind the house near the water to find her. Select these prompts next:
- Anca…?
- I need your help.
- I’m all right.
After that, follow Anca inside her home and choose the following prompts:
- But you can help her?
- How much for the herbs?
- Sorry – can’t afford it.
- I really have to go.
From there, return to your house to trigger a cutscene. When speaking with Father, select ‘Here are the herbs from Anca.’
When preparing the herbs, choose these options:
- Use hot water.
- Use three spoonfuls of herbs.
In the next conversation, select these prompts:
- Sounds good.
- The brew should be ready now.
- I’ll tell you a story.
- Let’s.
2) Like Father, Like Son quest

Follow Father to the training ground and complete a fight. You can either defeat him quickly or simply take several hits to lose quickly. When done, select these prompts:
- It’s about time we stand up for ourselves.
- Whatever you decide, you can count on me.
- I’ll wait with you. [Skip time until the mass]
3) Sacred Covenant quest

When the subsequent cutscene ends, select ‘He could go either way’ when speaking with Vladimir. Following that, sit down beside your family and choose the prompts afterward:
- This is sick.
- May it forever endure.
Subsequently, when you wake up from a blackout, select the following dialogue options:
- Where is my father?
- I’ve got to find him.
4) Bad Blood quest

Take the southeast path and continue forward, following the footsteps (use the Focus Mode ability to track). After a while, select ‘We haven’t got time’ when Vladimir speaks with you. Continue ahead to find Kostel lying injured. Next, select these prompts:
- Press the wound.
- What did you see?
- Calm down, Kostel.
- I won’t do it!
When the subsequent cutscene ends, select ‘How do I get out of here?’ Squeeze through the gap in the nearby wall, proceed forward, and when you reach the edge, take the right side’s narrow ledge to move. After this, you have to use the Shadowstep ability to progress.
Keep heading upwards by climbing the walls to finally exit the cave. In the next part, use the Clawride technique to reach down. Move toward the nearby enemies, suck the blood of one of them, then kill the other one.

Afterward, you need to avoid the enemies on the path to reach the objective marker. You can use the bushes and also the Shadowstep ability to quickly move. When you get near the objective marker, a cutscene will begin. During that, select these options:
This marks the start of the Brencis boss fight. Stand still and take hits to end the fight quickly and trigger another cutscene. When you wake up and speak with Anca, choose the dialogue options:
- Anca, where are they?
- I thought I was dying. I was sure of it.
- What happened to me?
- I need to go back to Leslea.

5) Smoke and Ashes quest

When the Smoke and Ashes quest starts, meet Anca outside. Then, follow her to Leslea, where you will find one of Brencis’s men lying dead. Following that, choose these dialogue options:
- I’ll go check my house.
- Look out for yourself.
Next, go to your house’s location, enter, and inspect the highlighted elements (using Focus Mode), like the doll, bench, bloodstain, Coen’s bed, and the piece of cloth near a window. When done, exit the house to interact with Anca and choose ‘Well, what is it?’

After reaching the dead body, select these prompts:
- How? He’s dead.
- Anything at all.
- I’ll try.
Afterward, use Focus Mode on that area to find the highlighted Brencis’s Banner. Pick it up, go near the dead body, and start to compel the soul. Choose these options next:
- Use Catalyst – Brencis’s Banner
- Let’s bury this man with the others.
When the burying is done, select the following dialogue prompts while speaking with Anca:
- I need to go.
- You’re saying I should prepare – but how?
- How do I find the right books?
Subsequently, follow Anca to the village gate and interact with the broken gate to repair it so you can move outside. When speaking with Anca in the next segment, select ‘I didn’t mean to scare you’ and ‘I’ll be careful’ to proceed.

Exit the Vale Sangora to complete The Blood of Dawnwalker

When the open world is accessible, head to the eastern part of the map. You will see a road leading to the mountains. However, the bridge on that pathway is broken, so you cannot proceed directly.

Head to the location I’ve marked on the map (image above) and use your Shadowstep ability to climb the rocks on the western side.

Do small climbs so you don’t drain your energy completely. When at the top, drop down to the pathway below on the northwest side.

Lastly, continue west along the pathway to find a large gate. Try to exit, and the game will give you the choice to leave the Vale Sangora.

Select ‘leave the valley forever’ to get one of the many endings in The Blood of Dawnwalker. Importantly, you will get the A Hero They Deserve achievement for this specific completion.
This covers the speedrunning walkthrough for The Blood of Dawnwalker.
