“The Sisterhood! Very Pleasant People”: Caitlin Clark Fans Shade Cindy Brunson For Mocking USA Star as Fan Claims She Could Get “Bodied” in WC

Cindy Brunson felt the wrath of Caitlin Clark fans on Monday after she mocked the Fever star online. The reporter appeared to take a shot at Clark while responding to a Threads post that claimed the guard would get “bodied” at the FIBA World Cup.

BrickCenter shared a screenshot of Brunson responding to the post on X (formerly Twitter).

“WNBA media members are hoping Caitlin Clark gets bodied on Team USA 💀,” BrickCenter captioned the post.

In the picture, a fan claimed Clark couldn’t play “defense” and would likely get bodied due to the physical nature of FIBA tournaments.

“These women are about to body Caitlin and bc she can’t play defense back or play through contact, she’s gonna have the tantrum of all tantrums 😂😂,” a fan wrote.

Brunson later responded to this post with a dig of her own.

“The freedom of movement whistles do not travel outside of U.S. WNBA soil 😜, ” Brunson remarked.

The analyst’s response quickly turned heads online as Clark fans slammed her for the remark, while pointing out how the Fever guard is constantly criticized by the very people who should be encouraging her.

“The sisterhood! Very pleasant people,” a fan wrote.

@BrickCenter_ The sisterhood! Very pleasant people.

@BrickCenter_ They are hating on Caitlin nonstop. It’s unbelievable how this organisation allows this kind of hate towards a player without taking measures.

@BrickCenter_ Cindy when are you gonna stop with the hate. Get over yourself

While most fans zeroed in on Brunson, others believed her comment had no basis, claiming FIBA officials were much better than those in the WNBA and that Clark had never been favored by refs in the league either.

“‘Freedom of Movement’ whistles don’t apply to Caitlin Clark in the WNBA either….she gets beat on, held, arm-barred continuously……and yet the crooked or d*ke refs fail to “see” anything….😧,” another fan remarked.

@BrickCenter_ “Freedom of Movement” whistles don’t apply to Caitlin Clark in the wnba either….she gets beat on, held, arm-barred continuously……and yet the crooked or dyke refs fail to “see” anything….😧

@BrickCenter_ The refs were way better in fiba than wnba 😂😂😂 you can tell they don’t watch her at all bc she’s been playing great defense and plays through contact so they’re just talking out their a*s atp.

Despite Brunson’s remarks, Clark has been extremely successful in FIBA tournaments, winning the MVP in the U-19 World Cup and the FIBA qualifiers.

Cindy Brunson attempts to deflect criticism of Caitlin Clark after her comments come to light

Following her comments about Caitlin Clark on Threads, Cindy Brunson faced heavy backlash and later attempted to deflect the criticism.

Responding to Brick Center’s post on X (formerly Twitter), Brunson claimed her comments weren’t aimed at the Fever star but rather at other guards on Team USA.

“Why are you so obsessed with what I say on Threads?!?” Brunson wrote. “I was literally talking about how our guards Rhy, Jack, PB5 and Soni can actually put folks in handcuffs w/o worrying about the freedom of movement whistle. FIBA is PHYSICAL and players only get 5 fouls instead of 6.”

While she attempted to deflect the criticism, fans continued to berate her in the comments, pointing out that the sportscaster had responded directly to a post targeting Clark rather than any other player.
