Vance’s ambition and arrogance do not allow him to see that he is being used, and Donald Trump has no intention of turning the Republican Party over to him. Trump considers the Republican Party to be his property.

Republican strategists have been saying for months that they don’t expect Trump to step aside and hand the limelight to Vance. The vice president is going to have to battle Trump and a Democratic opponent to get attention during the 2028 campaign.

Vance seems to be heckled or protested nearly everywhere he goes, and polling shows he is the second-most unpopular politician in America, behind his current boss.

JD Vance is not charismatic or personable. He isn’t the new face that Americans seem to be yearning for.
