Trump doesn’t have any positive issues to run on, so he has spent the midterm election campaign trying to gaslight voters about the economy, while at the same time dismissing the problems and concerns of the American people.
Democrats have been non-committal on the idea of impeaching Donald Trump for a third time if they win back the House majority, because they understand that the economy is the primary concern of voters.

Democrats are promising to investigate Trump and his family’s apparent corruption.
This promise of investigations seems to have concerned Trump to the point where went off when asked about being impeached again.
Fox News’s Peter Doocy asked Trump, “ You started telling midterm voters that if Democrats win control of Congress, they will impeach you. For what?”
Trump answered with a moment of pure delusion:
They don’t know because they were asked that question two… I saw two congressmen and a senator so far ask that question. They said President Trump has created the greatest economy.” When you see the real economy, what’s happening with factories being built all over the country, it was… Today it came out. There’s never been a time like this, ever, where $21 trillion.
…
We said, “So President Trump has done a lot. You could add the eight wars to it. You could add the biggest tax cuts in history, all these things. What would you impeach him for?” And all three didn’t know. They said, “We don’t know. I don’t know.” One of them was just dumbfounded by the question. He said, “Yeah, we would impeach him.” “And what would you exactly impeach him for?” I don’t know. Let’s see. Let’s think.” That’s it. So that’s as far as he got.
In Trump’s mind, his various financial schemes, taking a bribe plane from another country, blowing up innocent boats in the Caribbean, his immigration actions, and the war in Iran are not impeachable offenses.
Trump is so worried about impeachment that he went on to issue a threat to Democrats.
