A WWE star is poised for a major role and it is going to involve Roman Reigns. This is sure to bring in a huge amount of coverage.
A few weeks ago, both Reigns and Rey Mysterio were seen talking backstage and it was later revealed that there would be a tournament amongst the luchadors to determine who would be the number one contender for Roman’s World Championship. The match is set to take place in Mexico City on the September 14th edition on Monday Night RAW.

Penta recently beat Laredo Kid to advance in the tournament and it is now being reported that he is set for a big push. According to Wrestlevotes on Fightful Select, it is being reported that WWE wants to use the popularity of Penta and push him into the finals,thereby capitalizing on the Mexican market.
He will then take on Roman Reigns in what will be one of the biggest matches of the Mexican star’s career. With Penta’s popularity over the roof, a match with Roman seems to be like the next logical step.
Penta does not want to be next Rey Mysterio in WWE
When one thinks of Mexican wrestlers, the great Rey Mysterio comes to mind. The WWE Hall of Famer has a lot of young stars wanting to be like him.
However, that does not seem to be the case with Penta. The Mexican recently appeared on the Battleground podcast and said that he wants to chart his own path. He said:
“I think more experienced, brother. I feel more sure in everything. I feel more comfortable too because I feel WWE is the real Penta style. So, I feel glad to be there. I feel special there because, as I mentioned before years ago, I don’t want to be the next Rey Mysterio. I want to be the first Penta. What it means is Penta is very different. Penta is special because Penta has different things. I don’t want to be the Rey Mysterio copy.”
It will be interesting to see if Penta will be going to the finals the tournament and take on Roman Reigns.
