WWE: Asuka breaks silence after saying goodbye on WWE RAW

Asuka has made headlines over the past week after it appeared that the former Women’s Champion had walked away from WWE following Backlash.

On RAW the following day, Asuka said goodbye to Iyo Sky before walking out of the arena and seemingly out of the company for a while. Reports suggest that she has taken some time away for personal reasons, and she has since shared several posts online that show her with the likes of Brie Bella, Paige, and Becky Lynch.

Asuka appears to be breaking character by sending many of these images since The Kabuki Warriors were the ones who should have gone after the Women’s Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania if Paige didn’t step in.

Becky Lynch is also her biggest rival. The two women have fought over the years, with The Empress even taking the Women’s Championship from Lynch when she won Money in the Bank, and Lynch found out she was pregnant.

Does Asuka have a future in WWE?

This point has been debated by WWE fans over the past week, and it’s unclear what the future holds for The Empress of Tomorrow, but it’s clear that everything on RAW has been wrapped up.

Iyo Sky and the former champion have ended their story and are now back to being friends, whilst Kairi Sane has been released, so she no longer has a tag team partner. There is a chance that Asuka will make her return on a different brand, which would then allow her to push forward into a new story.

The former champion wanted some time away for personal reasons, and it’s easy to believe that, since she is a mother who is on the road for much of the year. She could take some real time away, in the same way that Lynch was able to a few years ago. Even if The Empress is gone from WWE for a year, she will still be able to return and pick up where she left off.

But for now it seems that her stories in WWE are all wrapped up and she has decided to take some time away.
