WWE: Major distinction between reserving underneath Triple H and Shawn Michaels defined by well-liked WWE Superstar

A popular WWE Superstar revealed the major difference between Triple H’s and Shawn Michaels’ booking of wrestling shows. His statement also explained why the in-ring action in NXT and the main roster differs so much.

WWE Superstar Je’Von Evans compares working under Shawn Michaels and Triple H

Je’Von Evans is one of the most beloved performers among the youngest crop of WWE Superstars. The 22-year-old spent two years working in NXT under Shawn Michaels’ creative before officially moving to the red brand on the January 5, 2026, edition of Monday Night RAW.

During a recent interview with ROAR Around The Ring, Evans was asked to compare working under Shawn Michaels and Triple H. The Young OG stated that he had personal relationships with both WWE Hall of Famers. Evans then proceeded to explain how the two are different, stating that The Heartbreak Kid loves fast-paced action and wants the performers to keep up the intensity.

“I feel like I have a personal relationship with both of them. But with Shawn, he loves the quickness. Once you have the crowd, once you have their emotion and reaction, you want to keep them there. I feel like Shawn, he really helps us out with that in NXT. If the crowd is up here, you don’t want to bring them down to bring them back up. You want to keep them up there. So, that’s why, like, sometimes in NXT, we go so fast coz once the crowd is there, we got them,” Evans said.

While speaking about Triple H, on the other hand, Evans stated that The Game gives more importance to storytelling and going a little slower because of the larger crowd for the shows on the main roster. He wants the fans in attendance to have enough time to process everything and not miss anything.

“Then, with Uncle H [Triple H], I feel like it’s more storytelling, more drawing out because we’re wrestling in front of so many people. You can’t go as fast as we do in NXT, because everybody in the rafters won’t be able to catch up and react to what we just did. You want to have time for people in the crowd to chill, react, and be, ‘All right, okay. What’s next?'” he added. [H/T: Fightful Wrestling on X]

During the same interview, Je’Von Evans also opened up to share his reaction to CM Punk defeating Sami Zayn on his return to Monday Night RAW earlier this week to become the new Undisputed WWE Champion.

Je’Von Evans’ last in-ring appearance on the main roster was against Jey Uso in the semi-final of the King of the Ring tournament last month. It remains to be seen what plans WWE and Triple H have in store for The Young OG going forward.
