Trump will throw anyone beneath the bus

Martina Navratilova has been a vocal critic of Donald Trump since he first became president in 2016, frequently voicing her disapproval of his policies and presidency on social media. The former World No. 1 has once again taken aim at Trump amid the controversy surrounding Kimberly Guilfoyle, the former US ambassador to Greece.

Guilfoyle recently came under scrutiny after The Wall Street Journal reported several instances of misconduct, including that she had asked a longtime Trump donor for $100,000 to pay her American Express credit card bill in exchange for access to the Trump administration.

Following the reports, the White House Press Secretary Katie Zacharia announced that Guilfoyle had been asked to resign from her post as the US ambassador to Greece. Subsequently, Guilfoyle stepped down from the role while maintaining that the allegations against her were “false.”

A reporter later asked Trump whether he was surprised by the allegations, given that Guilfoyle “was almost a member” of his family. Guilfoyle began dating Donald Trump Jr. in 2018, and the couple got engaged in 2020. They remained engaged until their split in 2024, but the US Presicent appeared to downplay Guilfoyle’s relationship with his son.

“No, she wasn’t a member of my family. She, I guess, dated my son a long time ago. She went to Greece, she was doing a good job, but we didn’t like what we were reading,” Trump said.

Martina Navratilova mocked Trump over his characterization of Guilfoyle’s ties to the family.

“A long time ago- from 2018-2024. But he barely knows her,” she commented.

Navratilova further suggested that Trump’s daughter, Ivanka, was the only person immune to being thrown under the bus by him.

“He will throw anybody under the bus- Ivanka might be the only exception…. I mean look at where Ivana ended up…,” Navratilova commented.

During an appearance on Fox News in September, First Lady Melania Trump shared a positive assessment of Donald Trump’s second term as US President, praising him for doing his “best.”

“He’s very focused. He has a lot on his plate. It’s very different, what’s going on around the world now. But I think he’s doing the best that he can. He works nonstop. He has the most energy than anybody. He’s from morning until evening, nonstop working,” she said.

As the interview caught Martina Navratilova’s attention, she mocked the First Lady while insinuating that Trump was doing the “worst” job.

“She meant to say how worst,” she commented.

Navratilova recently also poked fun at Donald Trump over his golf skills, joking that the President was likely to “hit a squirrel” with his low backswing.
