A popular AEW star recently announced that she is ready to get back into the ring after an injury.

The aforementioned star is the former TBS Champion Maya World. She was sidelined with a non-wrestling injury after her last match on the September 9 episode of Dynamite, and reports suggested Maya could be out for months. However, that seemed to be untrue, as the It Girl appeared at the AEW WrestleDream 2026 Buy-In show to clear the air.

Renee Paquette, Jeff Jarrett, and R.J. City hosted the Buy-In show before the pay-per-view, and one of their guests was Maya World, who made a surprise appearance. The former TBS Champion announced that she had been cleared for in-ring action. Right after her appearance, Maya took to her X to send out a message, saying:

“who watched me on the WrestleDream Buy In? it’s giving the IT GIRL is CLEARED TO WRESTLE 🥳.”

AEW star Maya World spoke on her growth in the wrestling business

Maya World had a spectacular year in AEW before her aforementioned injury. She made her PPV debut in a singles match against a top star like Mercedes Mone and then went on to win her first major title, the TBS Championship. In an interview with Fightful, the It Girl said she’s been learning more about wrestling each day, and fans are witnessing her growth in real time.

“I’m learning that more and more. I’m like, ‘I should’ve done this on my entrance. I should’ve done this or done more.’ People also don’t realize that I’m only four years in and only three of those have been actually wrestling. I’m trying to evolve as I go. Whenever you get thrown to the wolves, I feel like I floated well. You’ll probably notice on TV every week that I’m gonna be more confident or coming with new things or evolving. You’re watching me evolve in real time,” she said.

Furthermore, Maya World is now cleared to return to the ring, so she could pick up right where she left off in September. It remains to be seen how she fares once she returns to action in the Jacksonville-based promotion.
