How to farm White (Common) gadgets in Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred

With the addition of the Horadric Cube in Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred, it’s now possible to craft items from scratch. If you’re looking to make an item with perfect affixes for your build, rather than depending on random drops, then crafting may be the better option. However, to do so, you’ll want to get some common rarity (white) items.

As with many things, the process involves a lot of RNG, but you can also remove affixes and add new ones. While you start crafting on higher rarity items, unless it has many of the affixes you need, it’d be a resource sink compared to starting fresh on a blank piece.

The most common crafting item is the Primordial Dust, which you’ll get regularly from enemies. However, items of common rarity can be tricky to find. Here are three ways that we found to be the best way of getting them:

Alt Characters

The best way to get a handful of common items for free is by making alt characters. While starting, every character gets basic armor like a chest, pants, boots, and a weapon based on the class you choose. Since seasonal characters share inventory, drop them inside and delete the character. It is by far the most efficient way to get white items in Diablo 4.

War Plans

War Plans is the new endgame activity in the Lord of Hatred expansion. It requires you to complete a run of various activities, which you can choose to complete, and open the loot chest beside Tyrael. The amount of rewards varies based on how much you’ve progressed through the activity, but during my testing, it regularly dropped one or two white items among the rewards. Note that the activity is only available after you complete the main story.

Kurast Undercity

Speaking of endgame activity, the Kurast Undercity is also a good place to get common items in Diablo 4. The runs can be fairly quick, depending on your build, and will likely drop a white item on completion. It’s also a part of the War Plans, meaning you can enjoy loot from two sources and farm higher-level items much faster.

Other than these three methods, boss farming can also be a viable source of white item drops. However, the other methods will be a lot faster if you’re looking to wear a full set of crafted items.
